snakes and ladders

I went back to uni without thinking very seriously about how I was going to support myself financially. I was just following my ambition. So, after a few months, I ran out of money. 

I started looking for a job and the job I ended up getting was in the same organization (different department) that I had left, but with more responsibility, higher pay and less hours than I used to work. The new job was actually a lot more engaging than my old job. When I say higher pay, I don't just mean a higher rate. I was earning more working 20 hours than I used to earn working 35 hours a week. 

It's not a move that I could have planned out or aspired to. It just happened. It showed me that it's always worth following your dreams.
